The Competition will be held as part of the 2012 Torquay Festival in a marquee at Beacon Quay, a stunning location on the south side of the Harbour with the sea as a backdrop.
Brief History:
The Buskers and Street Entertainers' Competition was originally held in 2006, then repeated in 2007 and 2008. The 2006 winners were Bert Miler and the Animal Folk. In 2007 it was The Carrivick Sisters who performed in the Cabaret Tent at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival and have gone on to a promising career
In 2008 “casio rappers” Hedluv and Passman won and since then have received an award from the Cornwall Film Festival and released 2 CDs.
So after a three year gap, in order to give time for a new wave of Buskers and Street Entertainers to emerge, Born Hectic Events are pleased to stage the latest round of this competition.
