Born Hectic Events and the Torquay Town Centres Company present - the Torquay Festival 2012

Following the success of the first event in September 2011, we are pleased to announce a second festival this year.
There will be four open air street stages, at Lower Union St., at the top of Fleet St., a small Buskers stage next to the escalators at Fleet Walk and one at The Harbour. There will also be a Dance Fiesta Tent at Beacon Quay.
Join the Parade!
Come and join in the spectacular opening parade starting at the Union Sq. Shopping Centre at 11am and marching all the way to The Harbour. This will include a Samba Band, dancers, clowns and characters in a celebration of fun, laughter and enjoyment. So come and be part of the festival celebrations. Assemble at 10.30am
The open air stages will be presenting really excellent international street performers
together with high quality jazz, swing, samba and folk music. From 11 am – 5pm with The Harbour Stage running until 7.30 with the mighty 20 piece Carnival Collective who will also be playing a warm up gig there on Saturday the 9th of June from 8.00 pm

On 10th June we will be adding the Buskers and Street Entertainers Competition to the show with the winners performing at next year’s Glastonbury Festival!

Dance Fiesta Tent
Come and try out various styles and get involved learning different dances. Local teachers are keen to show what they do and also give exhibitions. This tent will stage the Buskers and Street Entertainers Competition to pick a winner to perform at the Glastonbury Festival next year.

Children
Children’s Interactive Fun Palace will be at The Union Square Shopping Centre from 10.30 am. The wonderful Rogue Theatre will be leading this as they did last year. This promises to be lots of fun!

There will be lots of small-scale local fine-quality food producers offering scrumptious fare with the added opportunity to stroll around and browse an imaginative range of arts and crafts, fashion and accessories
